  • Customise your Alrick bed

“We wanted a fun-looking bed for a little girl!”

We customise most of our Alrick beds here in NSW. This brief was for a 4000 series bed to be customised. The client was a young girl who has some significant medical needs, but was able to roll – hence the need for padded side rails. The bed is a single which will allow the young client to grow into the bed as she gets older.

The bed features electric hi-low with backrest and knee-break as standard. These allow the user to get in and out of the bed with help. If a client is liable to falls, the bed can be left at a low height over night; if the customer does roll out of bed, they are liable to less injuries as the floor is much closer than if the bed was at a standard height.

The 4000 series comes with both forward and reserve Trendelenburg and central locking castors, with battery backup.
This bed was fitted with full length rails which we colour coded, padded and added mesh inserts. Their selected powdercoat for the bed frame was APO Grey & Ironstone.

To finish off their perfect bed, the client chose our Loft headboard and the Warwick fabric chosen is in bright fuchsia. Our Loft headboard can be either covered in fabric or vinyl, and we have over 30 colours to chose from.

We worked with our Distributor on this project, and their account manager said, “It’s very important that our client’s can make colour and style choices, they should be able to have the same choices with the look and feel of their bedroom as anyone else. A person with disability issues are likely to spend a lot of time in bed, and it should be a homely environment where they will feel comfortable.”
