Great beds, great partnership, successful completion

Another successful partnership and outcome for the Caremed Team!
Our latest aged care project involved working with the largest aged care home in Victoria whilst a new section was being built and providing suitable beds for the facility.

Initial brief
The first part of the project was really finding out what the facility needed for their residents, and then how this was delivered, along with a complete refurbishment, with minimum disruption. Fortunately, refurbishments are our one of our specialities.

The EN7 floorline bed
Working with the provider’s operations team we agreed that the EN series Floorline bed was most suitable for the residents. It’s 3 in 1 capabilities were a real selling point. With electric forward and reverse Trendelenberg, electric knee-bend and auto-regression backrest, this bed is really flexible. Its low position is just 120mm from the floor, and the high position at 725mm (plus mattress) allows HCP’s to treat residents if needs be, at a height that reduces strain on the back.
The bed comes with no towers, so it is really easy to see the patient in the bed and check they are happy. The frame has a 10 year guarantee and the electric Linak movement has a 5 year guarantee – these beds are robust and suitable for any different residents, depending on their personal needs. The Facility chose the EN7 based on its reliability and the fact that the beds are low maintenance and easy to clean.

New build Facility
The facility needed 264 beds in total. First the new build section was completed and we furnished the rooms with the EN7 bed and a matching customised bedside cabinet / locker which was colour matched to the rest of the wood in the room. When manufacturing our beds, clients, designers or aged care managers can choose the head and footboards they require on the bed from a large selection. We have wood, fabric and vinyl options to choose from; the wood range also has matching bedroom furniture– such as bedside cabinets and tallboys.
The designer and operations team chose a Jersey style fabric headboard, ideal for a healthcare environment, in suitable colours depending on the décor in each room.
Once the new build was complete, the aged care facility moved the residents into the new section, and were then able to refurbish the original home – which not only included new Alrick beds, but also an extension and new communal areas in the home.

Project complete!
Our Sales Development Manager, Clifton Martin said, “being entrusted with such a large project shows the confidence our clients are comfortable in placing with Caremed Alrick as a key project partner and experienced supplier in the aged care sector.”
